Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is scanned entirely inside your browser — it is never uploaded or sent anywhere.

What if the tool can't find a QR code in my image?

You'll see a clear error message. Try again with a clearer photo: make sure the QR code is in focus, well-lit, not blurry, and takes up a reasonable portion of the frame.

Does this tool support scanning with a live camera?

Not currently. This tool scans uploaded image files only — take a photo or screenshot of the QR code first, then upload it here.

What image formats are supported?

JPG, PNG, and WebP images are supported.

Can it decode multiple QR codes in one image?

Currently the tool decodes the first QR code it finds in the image. If your image has several codes, try cropping it down to just the one you want scanned.
